About SpaceX

Make History with SpaceX At SpaceX, we are actively developing technologies with the potential to change the course of life on Earth and beyond. We believe that hard work and innovative solutions result in big gains, so we prioritize hiring top talent and cultivating a culture based on merit. From building our interplanetary transport system to working with astronauts and deploying our Starlink broadband internet system, all SpaceX employees directly contribute to making our mission of making humanity multiplanetary a reality. Looking back: SpaceX has gained worldwide attention for a series of historic milestones with its launch vehicles the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets, and Cargo Dragon and Crew Dragon spacecraft. It is the only private company ever to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit in December 2010. The company made history again in May 2012 when its Dragon spacecraft delivered cargo to and from the International Space Station — a challenging feat previously accomplished only by governments. Since then Dragon has delivered cargo to and from the space station multiple times, providing regular cargo resupply missions for NASA. In December 2015, SpaceX landed the world’s first orbital class rocket back on Earth after delivering a payload to space, and in March 2017, SpaceX successfully achieved the first reflight of that orbital class rocket – a historic milestone on the road to full and rapid rocket reusability. Since then SpaceX has successfully landed over 50 rocket boosters and reflown over 30 of them. In May of 2020, SpaceX successfully returned human space flight to US soil by launching NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station, and in August brought them safely back home splashing down into the Gulf of Mexico. SpaceX is now certified to perform regular astronaut missions, further laying the ground work for enabling human access to space and making humanity an interplanetary species. Looking forward: Starship - Building on the achievements of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy, SpaceX is working on a next generation of fully reusable launch vehicles called Starship that will be the most powerful ever built, capable of carrying humans to Mars and other destinations in the solar system. Starlink - SpaceX is leveraging its experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy the world's most advanced broadband internet system and deliver high speed broadband internet to locations where access has been unreliable, expensive, or completely unavailable. Starlink is targeting service in the Northern U.S. and Canada in 2020, rapidly expanding to near global coverage of the populated world by 2021. Read more at www.starlink.com How SpaceX is Engineering the Future with Software SpaceX software engineers are involved in every facet of the business by developing highly reliable, high fidelity and high availability software products that are critical to success of our launches. They develop flight software control systems, in house simulation software, build and release platforms, and security architectures for all SpaceX vehicles and satellites. They also develop web-based systems used for managing complex movement of parts and manufacturing integration assemblies, and even tracking telemetry of launch vehicles during a mission. As a software engineer, you will engage with other SpaceX engineers to discover the needs of the mission and write highly reliable software which turns the mission into reality. You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the software you create, including development, testing, and support. You are the engineer that other engineers can count on; you are technical, you attack every problem with enthusiasm; you remove hurdles. You are a self-starter, team player, have the hunger to venture quickly into unknown areas and code and make the system work. Main tech stacks include C++, C, Linux, Python, C#, Bazel, Javascript, Angular, and much more… Aerospace experience is not required to be successful here - rather we look for smart, motivated, collaborative engineers who love solving problems and want to make an impact on a super inspiring mission. Come work on the world's most advanced rocket, spacecraft and satellite constellation programs!
